Discover the breathtaking beauty and geological significance of the Biokovo–Imotski Lakes Geopark, one of Croatia’s three official UNESCO Geoparks. This unique region is known for its rich cultural, historical, and natural heritage, offering remarkable biodiversity and an array of fascinating geological formations shaped across different periods of Earth’s history.
Among its most iconic features are the Blue and Red Lakes, celebrated as the crown jewels of the Imotski region. The Blue Lake gets its name from the vibrant color of its waters, which occasionally dry out—turning the lakebed into an impromptu football field for local matches. The Red Lake, surrounded by striking crimson cliffs, is an extraordinary karst phenomenon. Its water surface sits above sea level, making it a rare example of a crypto-depression in Croatia.
Following your exploration of these natural marvels, the journey continues to the renowned Grabovac Winery. Nestled in the heart of the region, this family-run estate invites you to sample some of the finest wines Imotski has to offer, completing the day with a taste of true Dalmatian tradition.
This excursion is available throughout the year and departures can be adjusted in consultation with the customer. Stops along the way are possible in arrangement with the driver. Guests should have the right outfit for a tour and sportswear or comfortable shoes. Out of season a warm sweater and jacket. Please make sure you arrive at the meeting point at least 5 to 10 minutes before departure time. Children’s car seat on request.
Trg Gaje Bulata 6, 21000 Split or in front of the guest’s hotel if possible.
